Education that pays for itself…

Stimulate communities to collaborate and co-create, what they need are strategies, tools and some initial ideas in order to get enough knowledge and put their hand into solving their own problems. Poor communities (low income communities less than $3 USD a day) can be the builders of their own PSS. for that is necessary that the community and other stakeholders be involved in it.

this is a good example of how spread knowledge into communities, the “solar cooker” is a simple product that can be used in very sunny places with no fuel or electricity resources for cooking. besides of being used for cooking can be use to purify water.

Disadvantages:

- it doesn’t work in cloudy or cold days

- for using it is necessary to have the knowledge

- frying is not possible

Advantages:

- few environmental impacts

- no toxic smoke

- cheap, and easy to use

- affordable

- effective in sunny days

- no use of fossil fuel or deforestation, just the sun!!!

“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do”.

— Goethe

I will add… “the best reward is to put that knowledge into action knowing that you are changing lives offering choices for tomorrow” Carol.
